Leaving the Viking Hervor and Time in Basel, Switzerland

Viking continued to impress us with their efficient service combined with flexibility for departing guests. While we had to vacate our staterooms by 8:00 a.m., we could remain on the ship until later in the day. We knew we couldn't get into our hotel early in the morning, so we elected to stay on board for a little while. Today please enjoy this post by a guest blogger who needs no introduction, Rachel! The next day we docked in Speyer. It was VERY hot, so we limited our walking to about 10 minutes to the Technik museum, basically a museum for all things vehicular, including space vehicles and tons of planes. We practically had the place to ourselves. The very first thing we saw was an art car built by Bellaire HS students in 2000! Wild. Next, we climbed up high to tour a 777, where you could walk out on the wing! Here are the kids waving from the wing. The plane also had a slide you could ride down, but we declined. There were several children riding down over and over. The kids also toured a U-boat sub (I declined). We had a good time!
