A Taste of Royal

We just returned from a special lunch Charlie booked called A Taste of Royal. The different courses featured menu items from most of Royal Caribbean’s specialty restaurants, along with wine pairings. It took 2.5 hours, but it was a good adventure for yet another sea day. Here’s the menu.

Not pictured below is the chef’s amuse-bouche, because neither of us remembered to capture it. Here’s the tuna tartare from Wonderland, which was delicious!

The mascarpone risotto with crab from Giovanni’s was excellent!

The main course was surf and turf from Chops Grille, with mashed potatoes and asparagus, all very good.

Dessert was the fried cheesecake with Nutella whipped cream and caramelized popcorn from 150 Central Park. Neither of us could finish it, but that first bite was amazing!

In other news, we are now seven hours ahead, on Barcelona (and Paris) time. Unfortunately, it looks like we’ll be passing through the Strait of Gibraltar in the middle of the night. We were hoping to see land! We’re scheduled to dock in Málaga at 7:00 tomorrow morning, and we have a tapas tasting at 9:00, which involves another bus adventure. Fingers crossed for a better experience this time!

Last night we had a light supper in the Windjammer, with a table at the very back of the ship. Thought this was a fun shot!
