Reporting on Day 8

Last night’s dinner was in the main dining room, and the menu featured items from the U.K.  I had potato and leek soup, followed by tikka masala, with raita and roti, all very tasty. Charlie had a salad, then carved roast beef with Yorkshire pudding and roasted veggies. We both chose Royal chocolate cake over the sticky toffee pudding, after our server strongly hinted it was a wiser choice. I tried to get a good video of the size of the waves we were experiencing, to no avail. But Charlie did capture a nice pic of the sunset from our balcony.

We had our usual leisurely early morning (it was still too rollicking to walk steadily enough on deck), then went to the suites lounge so the steward could do our room. When we stopped by our cabin before lunch, we found this:

We had our first lunch in the main dining room (the Windjammer buffet is just too frenetic), and now we know where all the elderly Asians have lunch! Charlie was hungry, so he had all three courses, choosing the scallop salad and shrimp salad sandwich. Here’s a pic of the scallop dish.

I had a cheeseburger that was very good. For dessert he tried olive oil polenta cake with poached pear.

We’d planned to go to a program featuring ABBA’s music this afternoon until we looked closer at the description and saw it was a sing-a-long! Nope! But I’m sure some enjoyed it.

Tonight dinner will be back at Giovanni’s Table. We’ll also move ahead another hour overnight, so we’ll be four hours ahead of CDT.  We have two more sea days to get to Ponta Delgada in the Azores (on Saturday).
