Surprise! Another Sea Day

Last night’s Cinco de Mayo dinner in the main dining room was very good! We both opted for the cream of poblano soup to start. It was very flavorful and something we’d never tried before.

Our entrees were chili-lime crusted salmon with mango salsa, served over sautéed peppers, kale, and onions.  I’m not a huge salmon fan, but I enjoyed mine.

Finally, I had caramel flan, and Charlie chose the no-sugar-added coconut cake for dessert.

Charlie had a short but sweet evening visit to the casino. He continues to do well on the $3 slots, which no one else seems to be playing. He says he never has trouble getting “his” machine.

This morning we tried to take our usual walk around deck 4, but temps were in the 60s and it was very windy, so we gave up and walked a little inside. I read in the suites lounge (where the card players were going strong), and Charlie joined me after he “won enough” in the casino. He didn’t want to have to fill out more IRS paperwork, is my theory!

Since we had another time zone change overnight, they served brunch in the main dining room. The three-level space is really beautiful.

I enjoyed a grapefruit mimosa with a wedge salad, then eggs Benedict. Charlie had a made to order omelet and key lime pie.

This afternoon I’ve been reading and knitting and watching my show.  At 4:00, we’re going to see the ice show.

Tonight’s dinner is at Chops Grille, so that should be very good. We change time zones AGAIN tonight, so we probably won’t see many other people until well after we’re up and caffeinated tomorrow morning.

  3. Please tell me what show you’re watching - it’s getting hot and humid here and it would be nice to binge something!
