Sea Day, Friday
Yesterday we went to the suites lounge, which was packed with people before the magic hour of 5:00, when orders for free drinks started. We chatted with a family from San Antonio for awhile, one of whom had a service dog.
Dinner was at Sabor, which was sparsely populated when we arrived at 6:00. We enjoyed excellent guacamole, then queso fundido to start. We both had the tempura fish tacos, which were tasty. Sorry for no food photos. I’ve been out of the blogging mindset for a while!
After dinner I saw a post in the Liberty of the Seas group showing the Northern Lights, by someone on the port side. So we went to a higher deck on that side of the ship, but we never saw anything. Oh, well.
This morning we did some indoor walking, as it was too windy and cold on the deck track. At 10:30 we attended the “Loyal to Royal” event for frequent travelers. For lunch, we returned to Sabor. We both had their tortilla soup, and Charlie had calamari I had chicken quesadillas, and he had shrimp tacos.
Tonight we’re going to see Saturday Night Fever, the stage show, so we’ll have dinner at Giovanni’s after that.
I promise some photos of Boston next time!
What was "Loyal to Royal" like?
ReplyDeleteIt’s always interesting! A lot of the management lines up at the entrance to the auditorium in their dress uniforms, and servers with trays of mimosas and champagne distribute those as people get seated. A jazz band (really good) plays until the program begins. The captain says a few words, and the cruise director and hotel director speak, then they announce how many in each “elite” category are on board. Finally, they recognize onstage th new Pinnacle members, as well as the top three cruisers. The top one on our ship started in 1986 and had over 4000 nights!
