Almost Ready!
Today is our last day at home before we set off for our next set of cruises. First up is a transatlantic crossing on the Queen Mary 2. This cruise REALLY complicated our packing, because there are two Gala Nights, requiring formal attire. Given that our lifestyle has never (EVER) included formal wear, we had to go shopping. Adding two fancy outfits and sparkly sandals for me to Charlie's suit and dress shoes meant we had to take a third suitcase. You'll have to stay tuned to see photos of us dressed up!
The crossing takes a week, and we'll lose one hour every day at noon in order to arrive in Southampton at local time there. No jet lag! We are looking forward to the meals in the Princess Grill and afternoon tea, as well as the associated people-watching. There are also a number of interesting lectures we can attend. Needless to say, my iPad is loaded with books to read, and I'm taking two knitting projects.
We'll spend one night in Southampton, then board Independence of the Seas for a Northern Cities cruise to Oslo, Copenhagen, Hamburg, and Rotterdam. We return to Southampton, where Rachel and Rob will join us for a cruise to the Norwegian fjords on the same ship. Should be fun!
I’m rapt
