Monday, Day 2, Fjords Cruise
First, an update on Charlie. He’s feeling much better, thanks to antibiotics and lots of rest. He had a brief follow up visit with the doctor, who said his lungs sounded better.
Rachel and Rob joined us about 11:00 yesterday, after boarding the ship. They took this photo before boarding, after a long walk to the terminal.
We all enjoyed a good lunch in Chops Grille, where I had a Caesar salad topped with a filet, one of my favorites and offered only at lunchtime. After lunch, Rachel and Rob retrieved their bags from our room and went to theirs. They found this sign on their door:
The sign was all Charlie’s idea to commemorate their 25th anniversary, and I thought it was very sweet and clever.
The four of us went to Izumi for the hibachi dinner, and we had the same chef we’d had on the last cruise, Ferdinand. Same jokes, too! It was very lively, but not too loud, and the food was good. Rachel took this photo of the chef at work. The little chicken is from one of his jokes as he broke eggs for the fried rice.
This morning we went to the Top Tier event, where Captain Tor also repeated the same jokes, but he’s such an impressive guy that we didn’t mind.
Here’s the breakdown of the top tier for this cruise! Charlie and I have now moved up to Diamond Plus status.
Rachel sent this pic of the towel sculpture their room attendant left for them!
Rachel and Rob returned to Izumi for sushi at lunchtime, and we went to the main dining room for the first time on this ship. We both ordered salads and potato soup, finishing with some Royal chocolate cake and key lime pie.
Tonight’s dinner will be at Giovanni’s Table, and if time permits, we’ll go to the Boulevards’ 50s rock and roll show afterwards. That’s it for today!
I love the door decorations! How funny! Glad dad could pull those off!
ReplyDeleteI think the hibachi is as fun as you make it. If you play into the jokes, the chef will keep running with it!
