There’s no time change today, so we’re still four hours ahead of Houston Time. We slept until 7:00, late for us!
I didn’t get to the gym today, but Mr. Dutiful did. Morning Trivia was fun, though we didn’t do especially well. Our team didn’t know which country has the most pyramids, nor Queen Victoria’s first name at birth (among other questions). We did know the word for a sailor who hasn’t yet crossed the equator!
I’ve been meaning to post about the amazing floral arrangements that are everywhere on the ship. The video gives you a quick glimpse of the amazing peacock arrangement that greeted us as we boarded the ship, and the next photo shows the arrangement that replaced it.
This one was at the entrance to the Princess Grill where we have our meals.
All of the two-tops have sprigs of white orchids, and the round tables for six have centerpieces with multiple blooms. I wish they offered a tour of their conservatory or flower workshop!
I also learned yesterday (at knitting) that they publish a small newsletter each day, with American, British, and French editions! We picked one up today in the concierge lounge.
Here are today’s lunch choices:
 |
Ricotta and roasted vegetable quiche |
 |
Thai beef salad |
 |
Spaghetti Italiana (comfort food!) |
I again enjoyed the stitchers’ gathering, which added five new women today. Two were from England, one from Scotland, one from Seattle, and one from Vermont. Some were lamenting that their children weren’t interested in sewing, etc., so I told them, “Wait for grandchildren!” and showed them a photo of Sydney proudly displaying her cat quilt. They were impressed! One said, “But I just have grandsons,” so I showed her Thomas sewing a Doctor Who pillow. (Yes, I’m a show-off.)
Dinner was very good again. I had an unusual starter of gnocchi with grilled pineapple, radish, and cauliflower.
Charlie chose salmon tartare to start and enjoyed it.
My entree was sea bream, with Kalamata olives, grilled cherry tomatoes, and green beans, but I failed to take a picture. Charlie chose the tandoori lamb with rice, chutney, and roasted cauliflower, and he said it’s the best dish so far.
We skipped dessert, but at the end of every dinner they bring a mini display of treats, which we’ve enjoyed.
After dinner we went to the Royal Theatre for another performance by Katie Clarke, the very talented pianist I mentioned before. Aren’t you proud of us for doing something AFTER dinner?
That’s it for Tuesday!
I am very impressed that you did something after dinner!! Love the mini dessert tray!
