Sea Day 2

The ship was moving more noticeably this morning, and as we headed out to walk, we observed the barf bags prominently placed at each stairwell. Some people in the Facebook group were reporting they felt seasick. We managed to make our rounds to get 30 minutes of exercise without difficulty, though.  Neither of us had a phone with us to get video of the sloshing waves in the outdoor pool! I'm sure there will be more days with rougher water, so we'll try to be prepared next time. By after lunch, the water had smoothed out, with much less noticeable movement.

We decided to try having breakfast in Coastal Kitchen after our walk, and it didn't disappoint! We both ordered the Baja Eggs, which proved to be served like Eggs Benedict, with salsa piquante, avocado, tomatoes, and sour cream in lieu of the hollandaise and Canadian bacon. Delicious!  Alas, we both forgot to get a photo, but we'll get it next time. And the coffee was far better than what we usually get from the Windjammer.

Here's our ship's progress as of 10:00 a.m. (by reader request):

The first map makes Hawaii look pretty close, doesn't it?

We will gain another hour tonight, then one more tomorrow night, according to the Royal Caribbean app.

We spent some time this morning in the Suites Lounge, then returned to our room. After a big breakfast, we didn't want much for lunch, so we went to the Windjammer to make salads about 1:30, and it was still slammed!  We managed to find a table, though.

Tomorrow we've been invited to tour the Bridge at 11:00, so we'll do that, even though we saw it in June last year on the Canary Islands cruise. It's a different captain, so we'll see!

After our usual lazy afternoon and drinks in the Suites Lounge, we went to dinner at Coastal Kitchen. Tonight, in Eleanor's honor, I started with a very good beet salad.

Charlie had a Caesar salad (not pictured) and a shrimp cocktail.

My main course was roast pork, served over mashed potatoes, with a good herbed gravy. Our sweet server Lisa insisted on bringing Charlie BOTH the scallops and the lamb chops, since he said he was trying to decide between them.

For dessert, I chose the red velvet cake, and Charlie had a banana-cocoa tart that somehow involved tahini. He said it was very good!

It's 7:50 p.m. as I write this.  Given another time zone change tonight, here's hoping we can stay awake long enough to sleep late enough tomorrow that coffee is available somewhere on the ship!
