Sea Day 4
Last night's dinner at Coastal Kitchen was very good, as usual. I had the Caprese salad, followed by the butternut squash tortellini, which my loyal readers have seen in a previous post. Charlie had the seafood velouté, then the vegetable and bean cassoulet with ricotta-roasted garlic crostini. He really liked it and said he would have it again.
There was a beautiful sunset before we headed to dinner.
Nerds that we are, we wanted to watch the ship's progress on TV to see exactly when we crossed the equator just before 9 p.m. We watched the degrees, minutes, and seconds North count down. Charlie managed to capture a video of just before and just after we crossed the equator.
We are so geographically ignorant that we weren't sure which countries the equator crosses. I found this map of the Pacific interesting, with French Polynesia right in the middle.
We had another lively group at the crafters’ gathering, so that was fun. We traded lots of travel tips and suggestions for future cruises. One very patient woman has been teaching people how to crochet ducks!
I again met Charlie at the Solarium Bistro for lunch. They have a nice salad bar without the craziness of the Windjammer. In the afternoon we started watching season 3 of The Diplomat, marveling that we could watch Netflix here in the middle of nowhere. The WiFi is pretty good!
Tomorrow is our last Sea Day before we get to Tahiti. We have lunch scheduled at Izumi, which we’re looking forward to.

Tahiti!! So exciting!! I agree that y’all should do a cherry blossoms cruise.
ReplyDeleteSoooo cute to teach people to make ducks! I’m sure I would’ve loved that tradition if I cruised when I was little. That is another really good food photo!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to hear about Tahiti!!
