Sea Day 6: The Na Pali Coast of Kauai

Today is our last full day on this cruise, so Honolulu is getting close. This morning about 9:00 we got to the Na Pali Coast, and it really has dramatic scenery.

We'd hoped to spend the morning on the balcony, taking it in, but the sun was brutal! We soon retreated into our cabin and sat by the windows instead, just going out for a few photos. You can see a little surf along the waterline in this short video.

The landscape was so rugged, we could see why the area is uninhabited.

Just before lunchtime, the captain pivoted the ship so the other side had the view, so we were able to see more from our table in Coastal Kitchen.  I'm writing this about 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, and we have moved on, but can still see (through rainclouds) some islands.

Last night was apparently Lobster Night in all the restaurants, and we enjoyed our dishes in Coastal Kitchen. We both had salads, then the grilled shrimp with lobster.

We shared apple pie and ice cream for dessert, but neglected to take a pic -- sorry!

We have begun packing, and our steward will move our things to our new cabin tomorrow morning. We will get our new Sea Pass cards, then go to breakfast. We don't know yet how early we'll be able to get into our new room.

I'll report tomorrow on the Continuing Cruiser Experience!
