Day 5: A Sea Day
First up, we’re just back from the Top Tier event, which was limited to Diamond Plus and Pinnacle members, due to the sheer numbers. (Mere Diamonds and below will go tomorrow.). The lower floor of the theater was full—and we were too late for the champagne! They recognized quite a few new Pinnacles and those who had doubled, tripled, or quadrupled the Pinnacle requirement. There were three who’ve been sailing for over 50 years, including one very spry man who must have started cruising in childhood. Maybe that will be Sydney one day! Here are the numbers on board:
Note the number of Pinnacles, which explains the crowds in the suites lounge. We hear that the Diamond lounge is also mobbed, but we haven’t been there.
Here are a few pics Charlie took as we left Nassau yesterday :

Before dinner last night we went to Dazzles to listen to big band music. The musicians were terrific! We had reservations at Jamie’s Italian, where we had a nice table by the window to Central Park. We both had their excellent green salads with avocado and radish slices, and we shared the arancini, which we find hard to resist. Then I had the beef short ribs, and Charlie had lamb chops. Our server insisted that we try the tomato risotto, and was really tasty!
We are definitely feeling some movement on the ship now, but heretofore the cruise has been as smooth as glass. It hasn’t yet impaired our ability to walk around the ship for exercise.
For lunch today we went to Coastal Kitchen. We had salads, then I chose the Moroccan swordfish, mostly because it came with a tasty-sounding olive pilaf. Alas, the entire dish was bland, with nary a hint of olives (or Moroccan spices). Charlie chose more wisely and enjoyed his Royal chicken sandwich with fries.
We jumped another hour ahead this afternoon, so we’re now two hours ahead of Texas Time. We’re about to go watch some ballroom dancing, then we’ll have dinner at 150 Central Park. That’s all, folks!

Wow those numbers are wild! Where are you watching ballroom dancing?
