Nassau
This morning we arrived in the Bahamas in pouring rain and 23 mph winds. Not a great day for a beach club! We saw some people with kids preparing to leave the ship, but I suspect many others decided to stay on board. We have to be back on board at 3:30, so it’s a short port stay, too. It’s still so windy (mid morning) that the beach umbrellas are still furled. Here are some photos from this morning:
There are four other ships here today, but ours is the only Royal Caribbean ship, so the beach club won’t be crowded.
Yesterday we got drinks in Dazzles and listened to an excellent pianist for a while before dinner. In the suites lounge before dinner we met two younger German men who were wearing evening wear complete with medals and brocade vests. They were delightful! We had a nice two-top in Coastal Kitchen.
We both had Caesar salads to start, then Charlie had beef short-ribs with gnocchi and pearl onions. I had veal cannelloni. Everything was delicious! We couldn’t resist ordering the coffee pot de crème, but we failed to take a photo of it.
It’s now after lunch, and the rain has stopped, but the wind is still too strong for the beach club umbrellas. The surf is breaking and splashing ten feet into the air along the beach! Oh, well. We enjoyed our lunch at Johnny Rockets, where two tiny older women asked us if our chocolate milkshakes tasted as good as they looked. Yes, ma’am!
This evening we plan to listen to Big Band music before dinner at Jamie’s Italian. That’s all for now!

Bummer about the rain! But I love that y’all are getting to enjoy the music on board.
ReplyDeleteWith that many sea days ahead of me, I'd probably get off just to get off the ship! Glad you're having fun.
ReplyDeleteCoffee pot du creme is my love language :-) Enjoy the day!
ReplyDeleteWow those short ribs look great! That’s too bad about the beach club. Did many people get off the ship at all?
