Saturday -- A Sea Day
Today I just have a few photos to share, as it's a sea day. It's nice not to be spending part of the afternoon packing up to head home tomorrow!
Yesterday afternoon we started Happy Hour in the Centrum Bar area, because a really good classical guitarist we've heard a couple of other times this week was playing there. He did a wonderful medley of Beatles' songs that we especially enjoyed -- along with other Boomers.
We had dinner in Chops Grille, but chose options you've seen before. Charlie was able to enjoy a little casino time afterwards.
This morning on our walk, we had to get one more photo with the Swedish Nightingale, as the Schooner Bar was deserted at that hour.
About 10:00, we tried to go to the Diamond Lounge while our room was being cleaned, but they were auctioning art in the Vortex Bar and the noise was unbearable. Nikki, the concierge, told us that she counts everyone who is upset about being unable to enjoy the lounge during the art auctions and reports it, but so far, management is unresponsive.
We had lunch at Izumi one more time and tried a couple of new dishes that we liked a lot. The Crispy Chicken Kara-Age uses marinated chicken thighs and is served with sweet Thai chili sauce -- delicious! Charlie really liked the wonton soup, which was "very mushroom-y." And he also enjoyed the Chef's Sushi Selection. He couldn't decide which type he preferred. I've had the Crispy Philly Roll before, but it never disappoints.

With one more week on board, I'm sure we will repeat a lot of meals, but we do go to a couple of different ports. The weather forecast doesn't look as sunny as we've had this week, but we'll wait and see.
Tomorrow we'll go to the dining room with other back-to-back cruisers to deal with Passport Control and get our new Sea Pass cards for the new cruise. We'd considered getting off the ship in Vancouver, but the reboarding process sounds a bit too time-consuming, so we'll probably just stay on board. We have a day in Vancouver before we head home after the second cruise.
Thanks for reading! Posting may be light this next week, unless drama ensues. . . .

Are there no crafters on this cruise? I didn’t know dad likes nigiri!! I do not understand people who buy “art”on cruise ships. It wounds me.
ReplyDeleteThe lounge issue is frustrating! Maybe Charlie needs to go talk to Guest Relations again. That seemed to have a much bigger impact than the staff reporting last time…
ReplyDeleteHope the switchover is smooth!
