Final Days of the Cruise
News has been light around here lately, but we are still enjoying our version of Independent Living at sea. It will be hard when we (eventually) get back to cooking and cleaning and doing our own laundry.
Halloween hasn't been majorly celebrated on board, perhaps because there are many fewer children than on most Royal Caribbean cruise ships. I didn't see any costumes, (apart from a few crew members) yesterday when it was officially celebrated. Some people have Halloween decor on their cabin doors. This morning when we went to Chops Grille for Charlie's birthday breakfast, there was a fun display of decorated pumpkins in the Windjammer entrance.
Last night Charlie captured this image of the moonrise:
We're now in the Eastern time zone, with one last time change tonight. We are waking around 4:00 each morning, so let's hope we can adjust that a bit later in the next few days! It makes for a LONG morning.
For Charlie's birthday, in addition to the aforementioned breakfast at Chops, he wants to go to Johnny Rocket's for lunch, and we'll do takeout from Izumi again for dinner. Packing will need to happen later today. Tomorrow we'll have one last breakfast on board, then the suite concierge will usher us off the ship. We have our usual driver scheduled to pick us up for the trip back to Houston. Fingers crossed that all goes according to plan!
Next up -- we leave for a Caribbean cruise on November 8th. That one was hastily added, as they were offering quadruple points per night. We've done that one so often now that I have a permanent packing list, which makes it easy.
Thanks for following along!
