Turnaround Day on Liberty of the Seas
When we awoke this morning (after gaining an hour overnight), we were already docked in Southampton. We left our cabin about 8:00 to go join a long line of other back-to-backers to get our new key cards. It was pretty well-organized, thank goodness. We noticed right away that we had different key cards, but didn't think too much about it.
But when Charlie went to Guest Services to activate our WOW bands, the woman asked if he wanted a plain key card instead of a birthday one. He said "Absolutely!" We don't want the restaurant staff singing happy birthday to us all the time! But the birthday keycard is a cute idea, I admit.
After moving our bags into our new suite, we went up to the suites lounge. I checked my watch, and it was 8:39. So, pretty fast! We stayed there until almost 11:00, when we went down to check in at our muster station. They were passing out champagne or mimosas to ALL the arriving guests, so we nabbed a couple of those and sat down in Schooner's for a bit. Then we went up to our new suite and unpacked, all before lunch at Chops Grille.
At lunch, we were seated next to a nice couple from Cedar Park (TX). They are younger than we are, but have been cruising for 23 years, so have been Pinnacles for a while. We enjoyed visiting with them and comparing favorite destinations. I had my usual Caesar salad topped with a filet, and Charlie had a burger and fries.
We have been lounging in our suite all afternoon and plan to order room service for dinner tonight, as there is prime rib on the menu. Yes, beef twice in one day!
Royal Caribbean is really celebrating "Goodbye to the UK," with cupcakes in the Windjammer and a balloon drop later today.
Tomorrow is a Sea Day, then on Sunday, we'll be in Vigo, Spain. There are two ports in Portugal after that, then nothing but sea days until Galveston. Tomorrow should be the first gathering of the crafters, so I will take my socks-in-progress and meet some new people. Stay tuned for gossip!

Love the cupcakes! Glad the turnaround wasn’t too annoying.
