Easter in Barcelona

Happy Easter!  The beautiful weather continues here in Barcelona.  Charlie captured this image of all the jet trails from our balcony yesterday afternoon.

Since I’ve mentioned the lovely hotel breakfast several times, here are some photos of the buffet this morning. In addition, we can order cooked-to-order food, like omelets or pancakes or crepes. The first photo shows the grated tomato for pan con tomate (which we have daily), along with a toaster and sandwich press.  To the right of the lemons are ham and cheese filled quesadillas.

On the other side of the bread table is a sliced tortilla and various meats and cheeses.

On the other side of the room are the coffee machines, fruit, and fresh pastries. Note the chocolate warmer on the right for the churros (which disappear quickly).

We spent time packing our suitcases this morning, then walked back to Le Romane for a  2:00 lunch. We sat outside, enjoying the flowering redbud trees and people-watching.  We ordered almost the same things, salad and pizza, though their pasta dishes looked amazing, as did our neighbors’ blueberry cheesecake. It has been great to be able to walk without getting sweaty or bundling up! Early April weather is perfect, at least this year.

Here’s a bonus picture of some elegant shoes that caught my eye as we returned to our hotel.

Tomorrow morning we will head to the airport to fly to Athens.  We’ll spend a few days there before boarding our Celebrity Infinity ship. Stay tuned for more geezerly adventures!
