More Sea Days!
After reading about our food tour in Funchal, you might find it hard to believe we ate anything else that day, but you would be wrong. We had Izumi scheduled for dinner, and when we arrived, we were pleasantly surprised to find NO occupied hibachi tables! We did have to sit at the counter, as the few tables were taken, but we didn't mind. We enjoyed a peaceful and delicious meal.

Here was the view from our cabin after dinner:
On Thursday (yesterday), we noticed an immediate difference in the outdoor temperature as we turned west. It's much warmer (mid-70s), and people are in shorts and sandals. Here's where we were mid-morning yesterday:
Yesterday afternoon I returned to the crafting gathering and sat next to a couple of Brits and an Aussie, all of whom were hilarious, if sometimes hard for me to understand. I love their use of "Rubbish!" and plan to adopt it myself, as it's such a versatile word. I'm progressing the pair of socks and will try to finish them before we get to Galveston.
We opted to order room service for dinner last night, as the main dining room was serving carved filet of beef. We enjoyed that (with potatoes and asparagus), as well as the spinach pie appetizer and pecan pie dessert.
We had yet another time change last night (two in a row), so we were awake too early today. We're now just four hours ahead of Texas Time. Here is our location as of 9:20 Friday morning:
Today at 11:45 we're invited to Cheers with the Officers, an event for cruisers who are halfway to Pinnacle status. Surely that entails at least a glass or two of free champagne? Will report back!

Do you stop again before Galveston? Glad you are enjoying the crafting group! Do the Aussies or Brits ask you about American politics? They may be afraid to since you are from Texas.
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy that Saki! I have looked high and low back home and haven't found that specific one!
ReplyDeleteYou didn’t want to go to the Main Dining Room??? All that food does look great! Thank goodness that there was no Hibachi happening!
